i have a 1995 chevrolet tahoe i purchased a few months ago. 138,000 miles. i just have a problem of the belt squeaking. first few days i had it there was no problem, then it started squeaking and i sprayed it with belt dressing, that took care of it for a few more days. now it keeps getting worse. a mechanic said it was the belt tensioner and an idler pully that was bent, i could see it slightly wobble, i had that replaced, that took care of it for a day, it starts squeaking as soon as i start it and stops after around 10 minutes. if its only been sitting a few hours or less it doesnt squeak when starting again. a friend said to put water on it and it would stop. i tried it and it instantly stops, but 30 seconds later it starts again. the belt looks like brand new so i havent replaced that yet, im thinking the previous owners put that on and once that didnt work they might have decided to get rid of it. please any suggestions

Belt tensioner is weak or the belt itself may be glazed from putting all of that junk on it. Replace the tensioner and the belt. GOOD LUCK!!
