Have a 99 cavalier. Needs a new stereo. Found one out of an 02-04 chevy trailblazer. I'm sure its the same size, but are the plugs the same?

Actually, the size and plugs are completely different, and the two radios work differently as well.
The 99 Cavalier uses the old-style Chevrolet DIN+1/2 radio, activated by an accessory power wire in the radio harness.
The Trailblazer uses the newer double-DIN radio, activated by data commands through the Class-II data bus system (which the Cavalier lacks).
If you had a 2000+ Cavalier, the radio sizes and plugs would match; however, you'd need to have the built-in radio anti-theft system reset by a GM dealer before it would work.
For your '99 Cavalier, you can look for a radio from a 95+ Chevy Lumina, a 98-02 Chevy S-10 pickup or Blazer (or GMC S-15 or Jimmy), or a 95-99 Monte Carlo. Those should be plug-and-play (though you still may run into problems with the Theftlock system).
