View Full Version : sensor trouble in chevy equinox?

my service engine light will not go off in my 2008 chevy equinox.
we were told it was the gas cap, but it isn't...
any advice?

Yep, been there, done that!
Its the exaust sensors there's at least 2 in the exaust sysyem, one right before the pipe goes into the muffler one right after the muffler. These are supposed to regulate the mixture of fuel My check engine light stayed on so long I'm thankfull it burned out. If it runs good, starts good, all the fluid levels are full, why worry? I put a piece of duct tape over my light. Also I did this from frustration. I had all the sensors replaced as well as other things the mechanic said he thought was causing it it didn't go out. One thing you might do that works at times is take your ground battery cable off, wait 15 minutes then replace it. This re-sets the check engine sensor. Hope you have better luck than I. There's always duct tape.

this is not repairable with duct tape! you need to have the codes read and find out what is actually wrong with the truck! its very simple to find the problem once the codes are read.good luck to you.
