My 2005 Chevy Trailblazer is making a whining and a rattling sound?

I have an appointment today to have the linear pulley replaced for the whining. This morning I heard a rattling sound when I started it, is that caused by the linear pulley or do I have another problem?
I'm having my idler pulley replaced
