Can I use a different tire size on my Chevy Aveo than the original?

I need to get winter tires for my Chevy Aveo 5 and can't seem to find the right size which is 185/55 R15. I was able to find 195/50 R15 and was told they should work. Does anyone know if that will work or if it might cause any problems?

It should be ok. The 185 195 is the width of the tire in millimeters. 10 mm is approx. 3/8
