2005 Chevy TrailBlazer Check engine light on but can't hear or feel any problems.?

We tried checking to make sure that the gas cap was on properly, but the light did not go out so I assume that was not the problem. What could the problem be, and how much could it cost? I have seen some people talk about the secondary air pump, what is that, and could it be my problem?

Could be hundreds of things, get it to a reputable repair facility and PAY for a proper diagnosis by a professional.
