Will the Chevy Volt be sold in Europe as it is?

If I have read the news correctly, GM plans to sell it in Europe on 2011 but under the Vauxhall/Opel brand.

What I want to know is if the Opel AMPERA is the European name for the Volt. I have seen the images and the cars look similar (Ampera being a little uglier and lot less sexy)

What do you think/know?

The Volt will never see the light of day.
GM has huge money problems currently and the Volt is not a good idea at the time.
