I just bought this Tahoe and I need to tune it up. It's a 1999 Chevy Tahoe LT, 5.7L, V8, A/C, AT, PW, PL, 4D, 4WD, 68,000 miles.
Here's what I'll be replacing/changing:
Oil - w/Castrol GTX Non-synthetic (I'll be using a can of Gunk engine cleaner first then substituting about 3/4qt of oil for a 19fl. oz. container of engine additive, but how many quarts do I add after that...the book says 5 so maybe I'll use a little over 4 qts then add the additive.)
Oil Filter
Air Filter
Spark Plugs (I'm going with AC Delco, non pre-gapped)
Transmission Fluid - This is my first auto vehicle so how do I check/change the transmission fluid and what is the best recommended fluid to use for this truck?
Coolant System Flush - I'll drain the radiator and refill with 2 cans of radiator flush and water, run for 10mins after normal temp w/heater on, then drain again, repeat for 10 mins w/water only, then drain again and fill with mixture of antifreeze/water.
So am I missing anything???? =)

Make sure you change the serpentine belt and the fuel filter.
Also I am pretty sure 1999 (but maybe it is 2000) have what are called cabin air filters, for the inside of the car when the A/C or heat gets blown in. They are pretty cheap but not the easiest to install.
Transmission- there should be a dipstick on the left side of the engine. Check what color the fluid is and if there is any grit or particles in it. I would call your local GM dealer for the exact fluid specifications.
Good Luck
