...need for a new battery.? My 2005 Equinox has a strange starting problem. Sometimes, not always, when you turn the key the starter engages but never cranks the car. Most of the times it starts on the second or third crank but it once took seven turns of the key to get it started. The problem is not consistant with the engine temp or outside weather. The lease runs out next month but since it is over the miles it is out of warranty. We were considering buying the car until now. Any advise would be appreciated. I have already checked the battery and connections... what next?
