In the rare event you haven't heard yet, mini puts out a diesel that gets over 70 mpg.
Here is the link.

The vehicle is currently not being released in the states because we don't have an adequate supply of low sulfur diesel. Meanwhile GM has put all their eggs in their volt. Their electric car can go 40 miles on a charge before switching over to the gas powered generator. Cool idea. So if you could have one of these cars today, what would you choose and why?

Personally, I would go for the mini. The mini has plenty of space. It's sportier , and diesels have been tried and tested. Not to mention the overall fuel efficiency would be greater on the mini. I just don't understand what the big deal about hybrids and ev's is when there are vehicles that can get 70+mpg.

Neither, sorry. I have something better already. My cars run on natural gas, which is just 87 cents a gallon here in Utah, and it's environmentally friendly, too. They're both made by Ford; a 1999 Crown Vic and a 1998 F-150 pickup truck. The Vic gets 24 mpg and the truck gets 15, but when you factor in the cost vs a gasoline vehicle, mine beat them hands down. Plus, they're big and useful, too! I'm glad manufacturers are making some effort; don't get me wrong. But I'm for something that exists now and isn't expensive to buy, either.
