While occasional smartphone overheating is normal, it can be disconcerting as it saps the phone’s battery life and slows processing speeds. Industry-first technology coming soon to some Chevy models can help cool down this problem.

Engineers regularly subject vehicles to the most extreme climates to ensure subsystems work properly. While testing a smartphone wireless charging feature, they noticed some smartphones would suspend charging or shut off altogether after only a few minutes in high temperatures inside a car’s cabin. Chevrolet a Founding Partner of DAYTONA Rising Project

International Speedway Corporation and Chevrolet today announced a multi-year partnership that will make Chevy a Founding Partner at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) as part of its DAYTONA Rising redevelopment project.

The historic $400 million DAYTONA Rising project, encompassing the Speedway’s nearly one-mile long frontstretch, will be complete by January 2016. DAYTONA Rising is being designed to transform DIS into the world’s first motorsports stadium, with premium amenities and attractions.

Beginning in 2016, the multi-year agreement will provide Chevrolet with naming rights for one of five fan injectors. The massive, new and redesigned entry includes over 20,000 square feet of Chevrolet new vehicle displays and a fan engagement experience that vertically spans four concourse levels. New Chevy Camaro Tested and Tuned on Eight Tracks, and the Autobahn

To celebrate its return to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Chevrolet has shipped a surprise across the Atlantic for its European debut – the 2016 Chevy Camaro. The sixth-generation Chevy Camaro revealed today was tested and tuned on more than eight tracks around the world as well as on the Autobahn, and offers higher levels of performance, technology and refinement.

Camaro, which goes on sale in the U.S. this year, has held a leadership position in the sporty car segment for the past five years. In Europe, Camaro will become available in spring/summer of 2016 as LT and V-8 models. Prices and final technical specifications will be announced closer to launch.

The Gen Six Camaro provides a faster, more nimble driving experience, enabled by an all-new, lighter architecture and a broader powertrain range. In Europe, three all-new powertrain combinations are offered, including a 2.0L Turbo and the LT1 6.2L V-8, which is SAE-certified at 455 horsepower (339 kW) and 617 Nm (455 lb-ft) of torque – for the most powerful Camaro V-8 ever distributed in Europe. Chevrolet Adds Theft Alarm Notifications - OnStar

Chevrolet today announced Theft Alarm Notification, an enhancement to the existing Stolen Vehicle Assistance service allowing OnStar subscribers to receive a real-time alert when the vehicle’s alarm sounds. The service will be available to eligible subscribers later this summer.

The Theft Alarm Notification feature is another enhancement to OnStar’s existing security features, which include Remote Ignition Block and Stolen Vehicle Slowdown. With Theft Alarm Notification, OnStar subscribers can opt in to receive an alert through text, email or phone if a theft attempt triggers their vehicle’s alarm system and the alarm sounds.
